The Hippest Hip Hop Girls

This past year Jillian and her friends have been taking a hip hop class.

For a few of them, this was really their first experience with dancing, and they did an amazing job!! What we learned at our house was that there is an astounding culture that envelopes the World of Dance- one that is definitely outside my own personal comfort zone.

That said, the girls had fun together, learned some fun dance moves and gained in self-confidence.

Way to go, girls!!

And thanks also, to Rocco, their one-in-a-million teacher.

Field Day Friends

I think these two boys follow her to Pine Brook next year.
It will be nice for her to already have some friends in Kindergarten.

The end of Pre-K

I'm so glad Lucy had such a wonderful experience in pre-K, and is so enthusiastic about heading to Kindergarten next September!

It is the end of an era for our family, and the beginning of a scholastic journey for Lucy!

I'd never heard this quote before Lucy's school had an ice cream social to display all the kids' artwork. What a great quote!! Figures that it was Pablo Picasso that said it.

Marleah's Last Concert

Marleah has been playing the harp for two years, and singing in the school chorus for three.

Last month was the Spring Concert, and Marleah's last before moving on to middle school!

Here she is with Dierdre, harping away for their solo.

Getting ready for the chorus presentations. Marleah has loved learning the songs- especially the ones with hand or body motions to enhance them, and she wants to continue the harp.
I'm very proud of her expanding her talents and learning to love more and more things.

Time Out for Women

A few weeks ago, I was able to go with some fun friends up to Canada for a Time Out For Women Conference. It was two days of hearing uplifting music, humorous speakers and inspiring messages. It was exactly what I needed!!

For three days, we had fun getting to know each other better,
enjoyed the blooming landscapes around the Toronto Temple,

did more than a bit of shopping (with one of us {not myself} a shopping expert),

and enjoyed good food together.

We laughed together, cried together, navigated Toronto, envied the native stores, and met many nice Canadians.

I'm so blessed to have wonderful friends who take me for who I am.

And I vow to return to Time Out for Women next year.
