Herkimer Camping Trip

Went for a spendid time camping this weekend to Herkimer, NY. There's a diamond mine across the street where we mined for the neat quartz crystals and other gemstones. The big hit at the campsite is the lazy river bordering the place, where Matt and the kids had fun tubing.

After packing up, we took a drive to Cooperstown to see the Farmer's Museum there- what a neat place! Many period buildings from the 1800's, it's a working farm- growing their own food, working blacksmith, carousel (featuring carved examples of animals pertaining to NYState), petting/feeding "zoo", gorgeous flowers and gardens and the magnificent Cardiff Giant (one of the state's largest hoax).
